This proposal is an extension of an existing museum dedicated to the poet and painter, Mr. Tomihiro. The museum has collections of his paintings and poems. The design strategy is to create a platform between life and nature to present the artist works and his tragic life. Here, the design came with two folds. One is the grid system that represents the rigidity of artist’s life. Another one is the free form to represents the natural subject of the artist’s creation. Those two “systems” are structured as a double helix and generate the free form around the grid, which creates four different areas to house the new museum space. |
