MAPPING A NEW CAPACITY FOR PUBLIC SPACE
The nature of architecture is not the presentation of materials and ideas, but it is instead the consumption of ideas and images that exist in time. The value of design for the new National Art Gallery is a sort of immediacy, an awareness of time and place that is unlike any other museum. A museum that doesn’t change and replace itself is dead space. We question whether one should use the word museum, we believe a museum is a platform for interaction.
